If you want to run just the basic AutoCaption features without random access to media files, you'll need a computer which includes:

• 800MHz or faster Intel Pentium® class CPU.
• 384Meg or more RAM
• At least one RS-232 port but preferably two RS-232 serial ports if you plan to simultaneously control a video source and encode captions. 
  
  In a pinch, laptop users can encode with DynaCaption^TM if they have at least one serial port and a sound card.  Two port connection diagram...
• AutoCaption needs at least 20 Meg of hard drive space.
